Campground

Sheepworld Campground is an easy and convenient stop-over when travelling North or South along the main SH1. Our cafe and farm park give you opportunities for the real kiwi experience, while our rural location ensures a peaceful stay in Dome Valley. Walking Te Araroa Trail? We’re a great place to stop for the night. Have a hot shower and a great breakfast in our cafe before continuing on your hike.

Prices & Facilities

  • There are 2 options available for Campervan Stays:

    • Campervan/camper sites with power & private toilet/shower (ensuite) ($45 for one person, per night / additional guests, $22 per person per night)

    • Campervan/camper sites with power & shared toilets/showers ($25 per person, per night)

  • Tent sites ($22 per person, per night) are allocated on arrival - in our booking system you book the “right to camp”. We have large grassy areas and you can choose where to pitch for the night, being considerate of others, of course!

  • Our camp kitchen includes gas cookers, electric appliances, fridges, freezers, cooking utensils and eating utensils. There is also an outdoor BBQ area.

  • Laundry facilities are available. Washer, including soap, is $6. Dryer is $4. Please pre-pay when you make your online reservation.

  • Bookings are limited to no more than 7 days per reservation. If you wish to stay longer, please contact us directly.

  • We do not have a Camper Waste Disposal / Dump Station on site. The nearest dump station is Kōwhai Park, 1 Matakana Road, Warkworth.

Terms & Conditions

To ensure everyone enjoys their stay with us, please respect our terms and conditions. We’re a family friendly environment and we ask that you be considerate of this.

Check-in and Check-out

  • Arrival Time: 2pm – 8pm

  • Departure Time: 10am

    If it’s not possible for you to check in/out during these times, please contact us to make alternative arrangements.

  • A late check-out fee will apply for sites vacated after 10am.

Payment

  • Online booking & payment is preferred, prior to arrival.

  • Sites are subject to availability.

Use of Facilities

  • Maximum speed in the campground and neighbouring car park is 10kph.

  • All guests must have a paid booking before setting up camp.

  • Any visitors to your campsite must depart by 10pm.

  • No swimming in the water hole (the water is not safe).

  • No smoking/vaping in buildings.

  • Breakages and/or damages must be reported to the Camp Staff.

  • Communal areas and sites must be left clean and tidy.

  • No open fires are permitted.

  • Accompanying dogs must be friendly and on a lead at all times.

  • Access to Sheepworld Farm Park is not included in your camping fee. (You can purchase tickets directly at the Farm Park.)

  • No access is available to Springboard Youth Centre.

  • No access to Staff Only areas or beyond “No Camper Access” signs.

General Conduct

  • Excessive drinking will not be tolerated.

  • No drug use is permitted.

  • Guests demonstrating disorderly behaviour will be required to vacate the campground with immediate effect.

  • Quiet time is between 10:00pm - 7:00am. Please be respectful of others.

  • Where the Terms and Conditions are not being met, we reserve the right to cancel the booking without a refund.

  • Disputes will be handled by the Campground Staff

Cancellation Policy

  • Booking Fees are non-refundable.

  • No refund for cancellations during our Peak Period: 20 December - 8 February.

  • No Refund for reservations cancelled within 7 days of the reservation date.

    For all other reservations:

  • For reservations cancelled between 7-14 days before the reservation date, a 25% refund (excluding Booking Fee) will be given.

  • For reservations cancelled between 14-28 days before the reservation date, a 50% refund (excluding Booking Fee) will be given.

  • Full Refund (excluding Booking Fee) will be given if cancelled more than 28 days out.
