Sheep Shearing & Dog Demonstrations

The Shearing Show is a must do experience at Sheepworld! Watch our skilled sheepdogs round up the sheep, then brave volunteers help sort the sheep through drafting. A professional shearer demonstrates the art of sheep shearing live on stage. The shows are fun, educational, and full of Kiwi charm. Suitable for all ages. The shearing show barn is undercover so shows will go ahead in all weather types unless notified otherwise.

Please note show times vary from Summer to Winter, so plan your visit according to the schedule above.

Guided Feedout Tour

Daily at 12:30 PM. Join our farmer as they make their rounds with a wheelbarrow full of food, feeding and introducing you to all our animals on the farm. It’s when the animals get their main meal of the day. This is a guided walking tour and an opportunity to ask the farmer any questions you may be wondering about rural life, farming in New Zealand or sheep!

Eco-discovery Trail

The Eco Trail is an easy 10 minute loop walk through lush native bush. This walk offers a chance to connect with the abundant nature that New Zealand has to offer. It also showcases some beautiful local sculptures from the well respected Morris & James Pottery, Matakana. Whether you're unwinding or exploring, the Eco Trail is a perfect short walk for everybody. We recommend footwear for this trail, and it does get a little muddy in winter months. It is available to all ticket-holders at Sheepworld.
